With it's sharp edges, ashen rain, slanted decline, and located precariously close to the volcano's rim, it was as beautiful as it was dangerous.

Greyson climbs the peak, slow and methodical, his pace matching the somber weight on his chest. Rain falls from above, a steady trickle that slowly gains in tempo. Far above the landmark, storm clouds brew.

This beautiful landmark looked anything but right now.

Greyson had never been great at expressing emotions, much less loss; nevertheless he suspected that Noah needed someone. A love lost was not easy.

Noah's presence feels heavier than usual as he approaches. The Gym Leader was typically a beacon of positivity and joy.

Now?

He gives a small smile in greeting.

"Noah. I suspected I'd find you here."

"I am." He drops the pack he was carrying onto the ground nearby. "You up for a spar then?"

Something in the back of his mind nagged at him, telling him this wasn't a good idea. Noah was deep in the throes of grief, and admittedly, a better fight than he was.

If Greyson handled this carelessly, it could be worse for both of them.

He lets that thought simmer as a fist comes his way. Greyson reaches out, smacking the inside of his forearm to the side while taking a step back, avoiding the hook.

Keeping with the tempo Greyson slides a foot forward with one hand curled into a fist and aimed right at Noah's gut.

Saving a Litten from a tree might not get epics sang about you, but it will certainly give a lasting impression to that trainer. That's all we can really strive for—for them and ourselves."

He places a hand on Noah's shoulder.

"What happened to Kyle... It happened because he was trying to help someone he cared about. Isn't that something we all strive for? To handle things on our own terms and for those that we love?"
